VCA – A Place Where Miracles Happen

The flexibility to get ahead

When selecting online courses at Victory Christian Academy-Virtual (VCA-V), students should assess their personal abilities and aptitudes for taking a class in a virtual environment. The following characteristics will significantly impact a student’s achievements:

To succeed in online courses through Victory Christian Academy, students need to be capable of creating their own learning environment, meeting course expectations, and accomplishing academic achievements independently.
In the online learning environment, students can set their own pace and choose to learn traditionally, take more time, or accelerate their learning. This removes the pressure of feeling rushed and allows for an enjoyable learning experience.

While advanced computer skills are not mandatory, it is important for students to have a fundamental understanding of basic computer operations such as sending and receiving emails, navigating the internet, typing on a keyboard, and using basic word processing software.

It’s important for students to be able to plan and organize their own learning schedule according to what works best for them. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to learning, but it’s crucial to dedicate time and effort towards the learning process.

Effective communication is essential to students’ success in online courses, and they must be able to use email and discussion boards to interact with both peers and instructors. Clear writing skills are crucial for communicating ideas and submitting assignments, and it also helps students to inform instructors of any issues or concerns they may have.

Participating in online courses requires a strong personal commitment to learning, as there are no bells signaling the start or end of classes. To succeed in this environment, students must have a genuine desire to acquire knowledge and skills through online courses. This commitment involves actively participating in classes and taking responsibility for their own learning.

Student Account Creation

Once a student account is created by VCA-V, the student will immediately receive an auto-generated email with their username, password, and link to log in. When their requested course(s) is/are approved by VCA-V, the student will receive a welcome email with instructions for getting started in their course(s). Students will have access to their course(s) on their designated START date.

We recommend new students go through the Student Orientation course (free to all students) to become familiar with the platform and tools needed to participate in VCA-V online courses. Students should review any required materials needed to complete their course(s), which can be found in the course’s Welcome/Start Here module.
